Helping Adults Achieve Personal, Educational & Career Goals

Adult Education Centres began in 1999 and had its first crop of graduates in 2000. Each year, our centre graduates an average of 75 happy adults who achieve their high school diplomas. Our adult-focused high school helps Manitobans age 19 and older achieve their diplomas or upgrade their credits so they can move on to further education or improved career prospects.

What We Do

Adult Education Centres, through funding from the Department of Multiculturalism and Literacy, offers adults the opportunity to take literacy and high school credit courses in a supportive classroom environment.

Many of our students work toward achieving their Mature Student High School Diploma. Others, while they have graduated from high school, are able to take courses they might need for post-secondary institutions or work.

We offer a range of grade 12 courses, including three mathematics options, English options, science courses, literacy classes and other courses needed to prepare students for Grade 12.

We Meet the Demands of Your Busy Schedule

Our courses run twice a year. Semester 1 runs from September to the end of January and Semester 2 runs from February through June. Classes are available mornings, early afternoons, late afternoons and evenings, and are scheduled twice a week, either on Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays. We also offer a trimester schedule.

Our Mission

To provide a supportive, adult-friendly and lifelong learning environment where adults can develop and achieve their personal, educational and career goals through literacy and high school credit courses.
